GitHub for Mac now available

GitHub, probably the best-known hub for both public and private repositories, is now available for the Mac in the form of a handy management application.

The Mac version will hunt for repositories already on your machine, then allow you to manage them. You can view commit history, make changes, automatic updates and more. It also tracks all of your GitHub repositories and can clone them to your machine.

GitHub for Mac is a free download and requires OS X 10.6 or higher. We will have a full review of GitHub for Mac later this week.

Nowhere near the best known hub for repositories. That probably goes to SourceForge, or Google Code.

Shame, it's a 64bit only app so won't work on a Core Duo (Like my old MacBook Pro).....

On my trusty Core Duo MacBook, running the app just gives me an error:

"You can't open the application "GitHub.app" because it's not supported on this type of Mac."

Disappointing...

Are you running Snow Leopard? The app requirements state you need at least 10.6 to run the app.

Yay. There are some nice ones out there that cost money, but this seems to do the trick - for FREE!
