Adobe notes products with Lion-related "known issues"

Adobe posted a knowledge base article today showing a few "known issues" that their products have with OS X Lion. As the image above shows, it's really more than just a few issues -- it appears that most of the Adobe product line has one problem or another.
In each case, Adobe has done its homework on figuring out what doesn't work with Lion, and it's well documented. It's a bit disappointing, however, that the company's engineers haven't corrected these issues between the time of the first Lion developer preview and the current release.
Some of the more exciting issues revolve around a frequent offender: Flash Player. Adobe warns that "Flash Player may cause higher CPU activity when playing a YouTube video. Possibly related to disabled hardware acceleration," and that "The Flash Player settings dialog does not respond to mouse clicks. If you find yourself in this state, you can use the "tab" key to change the focus to the "Close" button and use the spacebar to close the dialog. While not all settings are available, you can also use the Flash Player native control panel located in System Preferences."
If you want the full lowdown on the open issues in Adobe's products -- and, if you're a pro graphic artist, designer, Flash animator or video editor, before you even consider upgrading to Lion -- be sure to click the knowledge base link above.
Thanks to TUAW reader James for the tip!

I ran into a problem they haven't said anything about yet. when relinking or replacing a link (specially with a multi-artboard file) the new linked file is no longer a linked file, and in some cases it completely messes up the image. anyone else have this issue? It is totally screwing up my work flow.

July 21 2011 at 9:57 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWow, I thought this was common knowledge: A working studio is just begging for trouble installing x.0 updates. Don't do it if your income depends on a stable system. In fact, ONLY do it if your income depends on supporting the new version. Otherwise, wait a few weeks until the bug are ironed out and your critical applications are updated.
You've been warned.
I'm a simple man with a simple need, from starting Illustrator '88 onwards, all I need is CS5 functionality for Illustrator and Photoshop. Also QuarkXpress 8.5 (anyone heard any Lion issues with the other slow company on that?)
Aldus and Macromedia did bring updates pretty quick in the old days. Adobe/Quark just seem once a year is good enough for major bugs/fixes.
In Print/Design/Repro the above packages are crucial, I cannot go back to PageMaker, Pixelpaint and Digital Darkroom now can I?
I would have mentioned Freehand 3.0 et al also, but due to my hatred, I only ever used it to export to .eps. Pretty much like Flash these days…
Anyone know of a current package that does what PixelPaint did tho? Seriously? Thanks Jerry Harris (Adobe) for killing it off
UPDATE: It seems Quark have posted notes that QXP 9 will be working in August. Older versions not supported, that is any version below V9. . Kudos for info update info, however not so good working in a multi-version Quark studio including PPC macs…I guess it's time to send my old G4s to the graveyard,
July 20 2011 at 7:01 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate downBet you are still using Netscape 1.0 aren't you? You PPC people have had what, 5 years now to get a new Mac?
July 20 2011 at 5:57 PM Report abuse Permalink +2 rate up rate down ReplyMore BS from Adobe. How long have they had access? 2-3 months Guess they are still upset about the flash
July 20 2011 at 5:05 PM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyWhats up with Adobe? They should have been closer... I guess they were to busy trying to convince everyone to buy Premier and not enough time prepping for Lion.
July 20 2011 at 4:58 PM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyI'd love to upgrade to Lion, but I'm afraid that the upgrade to CS5.5 from CS3 will keep me on Snow Leopard for the time being.
July 20 2011 at 4:49 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIs it safe to use CS5 on Lion then? I primarily use Fireworks, Photoshop, and Illustrator - are these all good to go?
July 20 2011 at 4:43 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyCS5 Ps and Ai are working on my Lion no prob! :)
July 20 2011 at 6:14 PM Report abuse Permalink +2 rate up rate down Replyactually the vast majority of these (excluding flash related) are fairly minor and/or in older product versions. I am happily using CS5 (not the current release) and the main apps, Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and In Design work great. OK so Illustrator will not save to the desktop - easy workaround, I'm actually surprised by how few issues there are with these monsters. The only thing I've had significant issue with is Apple Mail, which took me a couple of hours to get working again.
July 20 2011 at 4:42 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySee, I have no trouble saving to the desktop running CS5 Illustrator on Lion. What gives?
