Infographic illustrates 10 years of the iPod (Updated)

The 10th anniversary of the iPod's announcement isn't until October 22, but the folks at Most Wanted (part of VoucherCodes.co.uk) came up with a celebratory infographic that was just too good to pass up. It depicts an illustrated history of the iPod since that happy day in 2001, and is reprinted with permission in its entirety here. Enjoy this trip down memory lane!

Update: Obviously there was never a 1st-gen iPod touch with the capacities shown here. The touch started with 8 and 16 GB editions and later added a 32 GB model.

this is not a true infographic, as it has so much type. also, this is pretty terrible design. yeah im a snob -- but you need to try again.

While they mark the "signature" artists on the first gen, they clearly forgot the U2 iPod, which came in the 4th gen, 4th gen color (they do not even mark the change to color screens) and the fifth gen video ipod. Fourth gen U2 came with $50 voucher towards U2 box set, Fifth gen had free u2 videos.........

How could he have done that without, "No wireless. Less space than a nomad. Lame."

Also should have mentioned when iTunes was released on Windows in '03.

In 2007 it says the iPod touch was 80, 160 gb. That's sadly not right

Half the capacitys they list for the iPod Touch are wrong. Classic is still alive. Did these people do any research?

Last panel. 4th gen currently comes in 8,32,64. there is no 16gb model.

First gen iPod Touch is listed as having 80, 160gb capacities. The 6th gen nano is another touch device, no click-wheel.

I mean like 5 minutes on Wikipedia tells you half of this. Sheesh =)

Wait.... who came up with this? The end of the classic in 2007? I'm pretty sure there were a couple revisions after that. I know that they're not the most popular iPod choice, but come on...

Maybe they meant something like "the beginning of the end." Which is clearly was.

Agreed (although I hope it's NOT the case.... I love carrying my entire music collection around with me).
I thought about it after posting, but reading all the replies so far, it's clear that there are a number of shortcomings to this infographic.
