Newegg offering Parallels Desktop 7 for $10 after rebate

If you've been eyeing the popular virtualization software Parallels Desktop, online retailer Newegg has a deal on it this week you don't want to miss. The site is currently offering Parallels Desktop 7 for US$9.99 after a $20 mail-in rebate.

Now, there are some obvious caveats with this deal. For one, it's an older version, as Parallels Desktop 8 was released in August. Still, this version works fine with OS X Mountain Lion and offers all of the key features, such as support for Windows 8 and running Windows apps directly from within OS X.

You'll also be paying $29.99 out of pocket until the rebate check from Parallels comes in the mail, but for many that's a small price to pay for an eventual $20 return.
