April Sees Significant Increase in Mac Sales

Despite what T.S. Eliot might say, April has proven to be a fruitful month for Mac sales, soaring to new heights, according to a report by AppleInsider.

Citing an analyst’s note from Lehman Brothers based on NPD data, there was a remarkable 50% increase in Mac sales compared to the same month last year, alongside a 15% rise in iPod sales.

Last April, the Mac lineup was aging and lacked the allure of the now available Leopard operating system. Despite this, the significant uptick in sales is noteworthy, especially given the economic challenges and the rising cost of living that continue to plague consumers.

It raises the question: do Macs provide a sense of security and joy, or are they simply viewed as a more reliable option compared to the prospect of upgrading to a new PC with Vista?
