iPhone OS 3.0 Update Causes Video Output Issues

Recently, a buddy of mine reached out, quite upset over an issue with his iPod touch. He had been using it as a mobile video player, connected to a dock and a video out cable.

Everything was working perfectly until he decided to upgrade to OS 3.0. Suddenly, his trusty iPod wouldn’t acknowledge the same setup anymore.

Curious, we did some digging and discovered he wasn’t the only one facing this problem.

There’s a thread on Apple’s Discussion Boards where others are experiencing similar frustrations. It seems the OS 3.0 update has introduced a compatibility issue, rejecting third-party cables that don’t pass Apple’s certification.

One user pointed out that the original Apple Component AV cable and dock still function without any issues.
