iTunes 10.1.1 Update Now Available for Download

The latest version of iTunes, version 10.1.1, is now available for download via Software Update. This update primarily addresses minor bugs and does not introduce any new features.

Here’s a breakdown of the issues that have been resolved:

  • Resolves a playback issue for certain music videos on Macs using NVIDIA GeForce 9400 or 9600 graphics.

  • Corrects a problem where iTunes might close unexpectedly while deleting a playlist with the iTunes Sidebar visible.

  • Fixes a bug where iTunes could shut down unexpectedly when an iPod is connected to a Mac powered by PowerPC.

  • Addresses a syncing issue preventing some music videos from transferring to an iPod, iPhone, or iPad.

Note: Several users have mentioned problems with this update. I experienced issues myself after installing it, as detailed below.

If you encounter problems, the recommended approach is to download the entire 90.5MB installation file directly from the Apple site.

This should ensure a successful update to version 10.1.1.
