Apple May Restore Discontinued MobileMe Features

In the shift from MobileMe to iCloud, Apple has decided to phase out several services including iWeb hosting, Gallery, iDisk, and various syncing functionalities.

An enthusiast of AppleInsider reached out to Apple’s CEO Tim Cook voicing their concerns particularly about the discontinuation of iDisk and the syncing of application preferences and keychains.

Rather than a written reply, the individual claims to have received a direct phone call from Cook’s office.

During the call, it was mentioned that while there are no immediate plans to reintegrate these features into iCloud, Apple might consider it if they receive substantial user feedback on these issues.

Although there’s no concrete proof of this conversation, it seems to reflect a broader openness to user feedback under Tim Cook’s leadership, a noticeable shift from previous management approaches at Apple.
