The Thunderbolt 2 technology offers a significant speed advantage, being twice as fast as its predecessor, four times quicker than USB 3.0, and 25 times speedier than FireWire 800. The dock itself is equipped with an impressive array of ports: two Thunderbolt 2 ports, an HDMI port, three USB 3.0 ports with charging capability, an audio port, an additional audio out port with mic support, and a gigabit Ethernet port.

It also includes an AC/DC power input.

This dock supports dual displays if one of the monitors is a Thunderbolt display and can handle 4K cinema resolution on a single display. Additionally, it allows for daisy-chaining of up to five Thunderbolt devices.
