Founded as a pioneer in Wi-Fi connected scales, Withings has expanded its product line to include a variety of health and wellness gadgets. The company has now ventured into the realm of home connectivity with the launch of the Withings Home, priced at US$199.95.

This device is not just a home monitoring camera but also includes features for tracking air quality.

The Withings Home device is equipped with a 5-megapixel CMOS sensor capable of recording 1080p video at 30 frames per second. It features a 135° wide-angle lens and utilizes automatic de-warping to ensure the video output does not suffer from distortion, providing a clear and broad view of your surroundings.

Similar to the Dropcam Pro, Withings Home includes an electronic PTZ feature, allowing users to zoom and enhance images directly from the app without the need for mechanical movement.

The Withings Home app, available for iPhone and iPad, supports this functionality by displaying still images triggered by noise or movement.

It also features a Home Diary that logs continuous activity, offering users a time-lapse of the last 12 hours. A future update will include a cloud recording service.

One of the standout features of the Withings Home is its ability to monitor levels of VOCs—harmful compounds emitted from various household items.
