iPhone SE 4 Launching in March 2025: New Features Unveiled

Analysts from Barclays have confirmed that Apple plans to launch the iPhone SE 4 in March 2025. This follows earlier speculation about a potential spring release, bolstered by supply chain reports. While Barclays used the term “confirmed,” the basis for this claim largely aligns with prior reports.

Apple’s In-House Modem Strategy

One of the most notable upgrades for the iPhone SE 4 is the inclusion of an Apple-designed 5G modem. Currently, Apple uses Qualcomm modems across its lineup, but the SE 4 marks the company’s first step toward modem independence. However, the new modem might not support mmWave 5G, which is crucial for premium iPhone Pro models in certain regions like the United States.

This strategic move allows Apple to test its in-house modem technology on a smaller scale before deploying it across its flagship devices. By reducing its reliance on Qualcomm, Apple aims to streamline its supply chain and improve profit margins.

Design and Key Upgrades

The iPhone SE 4 will reportedly draw design inspiration from the iPhone 14, marking a significant aesthetic shift for the SE lineup. Another rumored upgrade is the transition from Touch ID to Face ID, aligning the SE 4 with Apple’s more premium devices.

The phone is expected to retain its affordability while offering advanced features, making it a competitive option in the mid-range smartphone market.

With the iPhone SE 4, Apple is making bold strides toward technological self-sufficiency while enhancing the appeal of its budget-friendly lineup. Scheduled for a March 2025 release, the device promises to bring innovative features like an Apple-designed modem and a sleek new design to a broader audience.
