For this year’s Mother’s Day, Apple released a touching new ad titled A Gift for Mom. The short film follows a father, Sam, who secretly records his newborn son’s first year using Spatial Video on an iPhone. On Mother’s Day, he presents the footage to his partner, Khulan, through the Apple Vision Pro headset.


As Khulan wears the device, she watches her baby’s early moments come to life around her. The video evokes emotion as she smiles, laughs, and tears up—fully immersed in the 3D memories.

Bringing Moments to Life with Apple Tech

Apple filmed the scenes using the iPhone 15 Pro’s Spatial Video feature. This technology uses multiple rear cameras to capture videos with depth. When viewed through the Vision Pro, the footage creates a lifelike and immersive experience.

Rather than simply playing on a flat screen, each clip appears in space, surrounding the viewer. The ad ends with a simple message: “To mothers everywhere, Happy Mother’s Day.”
