Apple is expanding its Tap to Pay on iPhone feature to eight more countries in Europe. This tool lets businesses accept contactless payments using only an iPhone—no extra hardware needed.
The new countries include Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Greece, Iceland, Luxembourg, and Malta. Businesses in these regions can now receive card and digital wallet payments more easily and securely.

Support for Local and Global Cards
Tap to Pay supports major cards such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. In some regions, it also works with local payment systems. For example, Bancontact is supported in Belgium, and Dankort is available in Denmark.
Apple partnered with 17 payment platforms to help launch the feature. These include Stripe, Adyen, and Worldline, giving merchants a range of payment processing options.
More Flexibility for Small Businesses
Apple’s goal is to simplify how merchants get paid. “Tap to Pay on iPhone provides a secure and easy way to accept contactless payments,” said Jennifer Bailey, Apple’s Vice President of Apple Pay and Apple Wallet.
This service helps businesses skip the need for traditional card readers. Instead, they can use the iPhone they already have to process transactions.
Looking Ahead
In the U.S., Tap to Pay is already working with tools like QuickBooks. This allows small businesses to track payments automatically. European companies may see similar benefits soon.
As digital payments grow more common, Apple’s feature offers both convenience and speed. The company is likely to keep adding more countries as demand rises.
