Apple has rolled out a new update to its event planning app, Apple Invites, adding a highly requested feature—link sharing. With version 1.2, users can now insert clickable links into their invitations using a new “Link” tile.
This update makes organizing events more flexible. Whether it’s a wedding registry, a potluck sign-up sheet, or a travel itinerary, the Link tile allows hosts to provide helpful resources directly within the invite. This simplifies communication and boosts engagement among guests.

A Useful Addition to Existing Features
The Link tile joins existing tools like Shared Albums and collaborative Apple Music playlists. These features allow attendees to add photos or suggest songs, creating a more interactive experience. The update, released just three months after the app’s February launch, reflects Apple’s effort to expand its ecosystem around iCloud+ and Apple One services.
To use Apple Invites, organizers need an iCloud+ subscription, starting at $0.99 per month. This ensures integration with other Apple features, though it does require participants to sign in with an Apple ID—something that not all users find convenient.
Early Reactions and User Feedback
While the app has been well-received for its simplicity, some users are still hoping Apple will lift the sign-in requirement for guests. This barrier can discourage non-Apple users from engaging with the platform, especially for group events involving diverse invitees.
Despite this, the Link tile update shows promise. It’s a small but meaningful improvement that could make Apple Invites more appealing for everyday use.
