Rebellion has confirmed that Sniper Elite 5, first released on PC and consoles in 2022, will land on iPhone, iPad and Mac in the first quarter of 2026. The new port brings the franchise’s trademark stealth sniping to Apple silicon at no extra charge for existing owners of the mobile edition.
Return to occupied France
Set in Brittany during 1944, players reprise the role of marksman Karl Fairburne as he teams with the French Resistance to dismantle Nazi coastal fortifications. Large, real-world inspired maps and an improved traversal system encourage free-form exploration. Meanwhile, the series’ grisly X-ray Kill Camera remains intact, offering slow-motion views of bullet impacts for those with strong stomachs.

Hardware and software needs
Although final specs are pending, Rebellion says the requirements will mirror Sniper Elite 4, which hit Apple devices in January. Consequently, Mac users should expect to need at least an M1 chip and macOS Ventura or newer. On iPad, an M-series or A17 Pro device running iPadOS 17 should suffice, while iPhone shooters will need an A17 Pro-equipped model on iOS 17 or later. The game will be exclusive to the App Store, meaning no Steam option for Mac players.
What makes the port stand out
Unlike many mobile conversions, Sniper Elite 5 promises full feature parity with its console cousin. That includes the co-op campaign, competitive multiplayer and detailed ballistics system. Moreover, cross-save support will let gamers start a mission on a Mac and finish it on an iPhone during the commute home.
Bigger picture for Apple gaming
Apple has spent two years wooing triple-A studios, and Sniper Elite 5 joins recent arrivals like Resident Evil 4 and Death Stranding. Together, these titles signal that demanding shooters can now run smoothly on phones and tablets. Therefore, analysts argue that Apple is closing the gap with handheld PCs and dedicated consoles—one marquee release at a time.
