Apple has officially opened its new Perth City retail store, transforming a historic Commonwealth Bank building into a modern space that blends technology and heritage. The store, located in Forrest Place, welcomed customers on June 27 at 9 a.m. local time.
This is not a completely new store, but a relocation of Apple’s previous Perth outlet. However, the experience has been elevated significantly with regional firsts and careful architectural restoration.

Apple Blends Tech with Local History
Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail and People, explained that the store was designed to bring Apple’s innovation closer to the community while preserving the building’s historical character.
“Our team meticulously restored and mended heritage fabric throughout the building,” said O’Brien. This included preserving marble tiling, decorative ceilings, and original plaster columns to create a uniquely local shopping experience.
Unique Features for Western Australia
Apple Perth City introduces several first-time features for the region. The store includes a dedicated Apple Watch try-on and guided lesson area. It also features a pickup counter—an Australia-first addition—allowing customers to collect online orders more efficiently.
Like all modern Apple Stores, it will host Today at Apple sessions, where customers can learn skills such as digital drawing on iPads or mastering photography with iPhones. These free programs aim to engage and educate local communities.
Part of Apple’s Larger Retail Vision
This opening is part of Apple’s broader retail expansion plan, which includes opening or remodeling 50 stores worldwide by 2027. Apple’s strategy emphasizes combining advanced retail features with thoughtful design that honors local culture and architecture.
