Apple’s next iPhone could see a major design change. New leaks suggest the iPhone 17 will have a 6.3-inch screen, the same as the iPhone 17 Pro. If true, this marks the first time both models share identical screen sizes.
Display analyst Ross Young first reported the change in May. Now, well-known leaker “Digital Chat Station” has backed the claim on Chinese platform Weibo. Both say the new iPhone will jump from 6.1 to 6.3 inches.

Accessory Leak Adds Support
Accessory brand Spigen may have hinted at this change. A leaked listing for a screen protector showed compatibility with both iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro. These case leaks often rely on predictions but are sometimes accurate.
Apple has released same-size screens before. For example, the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro both had the same display size. However, Apple usually gives its Pro models bigger screens and more premium features.
If the iPhone 17 does match the Pro in size, it could shift what matters most to buyers. Instead of focusing on screen size, users may choose based on performance or camera options.
How Trustworthy Is This Rumor?
Digital Chat Station has a mixed record. While some of their leaks are accurate, others miss the mark. Still, when multiple sources agree, it adds credibility.
Apple hasn’t confirmed anything yet. But if this rumor proves true, it would make the base iPhone more appealing to users who want a larger display without going Pro.
