Since Apple launched the digital Car Key feature in 2020, the list of compatible vehicles has steadily grown. This feature allows users to lock, unlock, and start their vehicles using just an iPhone or Apple Watch. Now, the number of supported models has significantly expanded across several top automakers.
New Brands and Models Join the Lineup
Automakers such as Audi, BMW, Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo continue to offer wide compatibility. Audi’s 2025 lineup, including the A5, Q5, Q6, and A6, now supports digital keys. BMW remains a leader with compatibility starting from its 2021 models across the 1 to 8 Series and newer electric vehicles like the iX and i4.

Hyundai and Kia also show strong support. Hyundai models from 2023 onward, including the Palisade, Elantra, and IONIQ series, are now supported. Kia models like the Telluride, Seltos, EV6, and Carnival have joined the list as well.
MINI, Genesis, Mercedes-Benz, and More
MINI’s latest Cooper and Countryman models now work with Apple Car Keys. Genesis supports the GV60, G70, and G90, while Mercedes-Benz has enabled the feature in its 2024 E-Class and 2025 EQ series. Even RAM, Polestar, Lotus, and Volvo have jumped in with selected models.
What’s Next: More Brands to Join
During Apple’s WWDC 2025, the company confirmed that even more brands will adopt the Car Key feature soon. Upcoming models from Acura, Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, Porsche, Lucid, Tata, and Rivian are expected to offer digital car key support.
A Growing Trend in Digital Mobility
As digital keys become more common, Apple continues to push for broader adoption across the auto industry. This not only makes car access more convenient but also sets the stage for deeper integration between mobile devices and vehicles.
With more brands getting on board, the iPhone is quickly becoming the only key many drivers need.
