Apple Vision Pro Update to Boost Speed and Comfort in 2025

Apple is preparing to launch an upgraded version of its Vision Pro headset by late 2025. While not a second-generation release, the update will enhance the device’s performance and comfort—two features users have consistently asked for.

According to sources close to the project, the headset will get a faster chip, possibly the M4, replacing the current M2 processor. This change will improve how the headset handles artificial intelligence, which plays a key role in delivering immersive experiences.

Lighter, Smarter, and Easier to Wear

Another significant improvement targets user comfort. Apple is reportedly testing new head straps designed to reduce the strain caused by the headset’s 1.4-pound weight. The current model has faced criticism for being too heavy, especially during extended use.

The comfort tweaks align with rumors suggesting Apple may use titanium in future designs. Titanium is stronger and lighter than aluminum, the material used in the current version. If this material shift happens, it’s more likely for a future “Pro” model due to the higher cost.

Not Quite a Full Upgrade—Yet

While the 2025 version offers real improvements, it’s still not the full second-generation Vision Pro. Analysts, including Ming-Chi Kuo, expect a true follow-up in 2026 or 2027. Apple may also be working on a lighter, more affordable version for casual users, alongside long-term plans for smart glasses known as Apple Glass.

Looking Ahead

Apple’s strategy appears to be a step-by-step refinement rather than a leap to an all-new model. This move may help the company gain a stronger hold in the mixed-reality market by addressing key user complaints without waiting years for a full redesign.

As competition increases and user expectations rise, Apple’s small yet meaningful changes may be enough to keep the Vision Pro relevant until the next big release.
