Apple is set to open a significantly larger Touchwood store in Solihull, UK, marking a major upgrade for local customers. The current store will close on July 24, 2025, with the new one opening the next morning, July 25.
The new location sits directly opposite the old store on the Crescent Arcade within the same mall. Previously occupied by Topshop, the space has been vacant since the clothing retailer shut down in 2021.

How Big Is the New Store?
Although Apple does not share exact measurements, estimates suggest the new store spans around 10,000 square feet. This is more than twice the size of the original 4,000-square-foot store, which was one of the smallest Apple Stores in the UK.
The old unit’s long, narrow design posed challenges, especially during COVID-19 restrictions, forcing Apple to rent an adjacent space just for customer queues. The expanded store aims to solve those issues by providing more room for product displays, Today at Apple sessions, and improved customer flow.
Why This Move Matters
Touchwood mall has faced several challenges in recent years, including the closure of major retailers and a stalled expansion plan. Apple’s decision to occupy one of its largest vacant spaces signals confidence in the mall’s future. The relocation also aligns with Apple’s broader trend of modernizing and enlarging its stores to accommodate growing demand for in-person services.
Nearby, Apple Birmingham remains one of the UK’s largest stores at 20,000 square feet, setting a benchmark for retail experience. While the new Solihull store won’t match that size, it will deliver a significantly upgraded environment compared to its predecessor.
