Apple has rolled out a revised version of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 developer beta 4, updating it to match the build distributed to public beta testers earlier this week. The new build, numbered 23A5297m, replaces the previous 23A5297i release issued just two days ago. While Apple has not detailed specific changes, the update ensures consistency between developer and public testing versions.

Design Tweaks and Feature Updates

This beta cycle has attracted attention for its Liquid Glass redesign, which sparked criticism over legibility issues in earlier builds. Apple scaled back the design changes in beta 3 but reintroduced some elements in beta 4, causing mixed reactions among testers.

Alongside the design refinements, developer beta 4 adds several notable features. Users can now enjoy a dynamic wallpaper option, the return of the Silence Unknown Callers feature, and improvements to core apps like Camera. These enhancements aim to refine the overall user experience ahead of the final release.

Should You Install the Beta?

Despite the appeal of early access, Apple and experts strongly caution users against installing betas on primary devices. Beta builds often contain bugs that can lead to crashes or data loss. If you choose to try iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 early, Apple recommends backing up your data and using secondary hardware.

The final version of iOS 26 is expected to launch later this year, bringing these features—and likely more—to all supported devices.
