Apple recently introduced AppleCare One, a subscription plan designed to cover multiple Apple devices under one account. The plan launched on July 24 and offers tiered pricing that starts at $19.99 per month for up to three devices. Moreover, customers can add additional devices for $5.99 each. Supported products include iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro.

This new plan replaces AppleCare+ for new subscribers. Therefore, it provides a more flexible and cost-effective way to manage coverage across different devices.

What About iPhone Upgrade Program Users?

Historically, the iPhone Upgrade Program bundled AppleCare+ with its monthly payment plan, which caused uncertainty about compatibility with AppleCare One. Fortunately, Apple has confirmed that switching is possible, though it is not an automatic process.

To make the switch, users must contact Apple Support and unbundle AppleCare+ from their iPhone Upgrade Program before enrolling in AppleCare One separately. Additionally, this requires a U.S.-based Apple ID in good standing.

However, Apple warns that removing AppleCare+ from the Upgrade Program could complicate future upgrades, since the system often expects bundled coverage for eligibility. Consequently, while switching is allowed, it may not lead to significant cost savings.

Available in the U.S. Only

For now, AppleCare One is available exclusively in the United States, and Apple has not provided any timeline for an international rollout. Users who decide to switch from an active AppleCare+ plan will receive a refund of the remaining balance in the form of an Apple Gift Card. This credit is delivered by email once the new subscription becomes active.
