Apple’s new iPhone 16e has pushed the company’s U.S. average iPhone price to a record high for a June quarter. According to Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), the average selling price hit $985 during the quarter, up from $971 in March 2025 and matching June 2024’s record

This price increase is unusual for the second calendar quarter, which typically sees lower spending on premium phones. The change highlights a shift in Apple’s lineup and consumer interest in mid-range models.

A Strategic Shift from iPhone SE to iPhone 16e

The iPhone 16e replaced the budget-friendly iPhone SE, but with a $100 price jump. This switch raised the entry-level price and helped lift Apple’s average selling price overall. Buyers who may have picked older discounted models like the iPhone 14 or 15 turned to the 16e instead.

Despite the price hike, the 16e maintained strong demand, showing Apple’s pricing power and brand loyalty in the midrange category.

Pro Models Still Perform Strongly

While the 16e drew attention, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max continued to sell well. These premium models helped balance the mix and contributed to the elevated average price. Although fewer buyers chose high-storage versions, the Pro lineup still made up a significant share of sales.

This blend of midrange and high-end models kept Apple’s revenue per device strong.

Outlook Ahead of iPhone 17 Launch

CIRP’s U.S. Weighted Average Retail Price (WARP) metric doesn’t include global data, but it offers a clear picture of U.S. trends. Apple no longer reports official average selling prices, making independent data sources crucial for insights.

As Apple prepares for the iPhone 17 cycle, the strong showing of the iPhone 16e and Pro models hints at continued pricing strength in the months ahead.
