Apple has released the sixth developer betas for its next-generation operating systems, including iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26 Tahoe, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26. This update follows the fifth beta from August 5 and continues the company’s steady rollout schedule ahead of the official fall launch.

Alongside these betas, Apple also pushed out the second release candidate builds for macOS 15.7 and macOS 14.8, as well as the sixth beta for HomePod Software 256.

Major Interface Overhaul with Liquid Glass

One of the standout features across the 26-series updates is Apple’s new Liquid Glass aesthetic. This design introduces a transparent, glass-like interface that extends through the operating system and first-party apps, delivering a sleek, modern visual experience.

For iOS 26, users can also expect a new battery management system, an overhauled Camera app, ChatGPT integration improvements, and updates to AirPods functionality.

Productivity and App Enhancements

iPadOS 26 leans heavily into productivity, with updates to the Files app, Preview, and improved window management tools. Meanwhile, macOS 26 Tahoe adds a dedicated Phone app, Clipboard History, and a redesigned Spotlight search.

Earlier beta versions introduced features like a mode-switching toggle in the Camera app, splash screens for Apple’s apps, bouncy animations, and refreshed app icons.

Developer Guidance and Caution

Apple advises developers to install these betas only on non-essential devices due to the potential for bugs and data loss. Testers should ensure they have full backups of important data before proceeding.

The latest beta releases set the stage for Apple’s next big software cycle, promising both visual upgrades and functional improvements across devices. With the official release expected later this year, developers now have a more complete picture of what’s coming to Apple’s ecosystem.
