Apple may soon launch a crossbody strap designed for the upcoming iPhone 17. Fresh images from reliable leaker Sonny Dickson have fueled speculation, showing both a full-length strap and its ends. However, the method of attachment remains unclear.

The first rumors appeared in late August 2025 but faced skepticism, as early images looked fake. Critics questioned how such a strap could support an iPhone’s weight or even attach securely. By early September, though, repeated leaks and diagrams made the claims appear more credible.

Possible Design Approach

The strap might connect through a new Apple case with dedicated mounting holes. Another theory suggests magnets along the strap’s length, allowing quick attachment and removal. Apple has not confirmed any of these designs, and Dickson’s latest leaks avoid mentioning connection methods.

Dickson’s history lends credibility to the rumor. In April 2024, he accurately leaked mockups of the iPhone 16 lineup that revealed the correct screen sizes months before the launch.

Expanding iPhone Accessories

If released, the crossbody strap would represent one of Apple’s more unusual accessories. It could appeal to users who want to carry their iPhones more securely in crowded or active environments. At the same time, it may align with Apple’s reported plans for the iPhone 17, which is expected to feature the largest design changes in years.

Apple enthusiasts remain divided. Some welcome the idea as a practical addition, while others question its necessity. As with many Apple rumors, anticipation continues to build ahead of the iPhone 17’s official unveiling.
