Apple has announced that its new Downtown Detroit store will officially open on September 19, 2025, the same day the company rolls out its latest products. The timing ensures the opening will be one of the busiest days in Apple’s retail history.
Major Product Launches
The Detroit debut aligns with the global release of the iPhone 17 lineup, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Customers will also see the launch of the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Apple Watch SE 3, along with the long-anticipated AirPods Pro 3.

Detroit Gets a Spotlight
Located at 1430 Woodward Avenue, the store promises the full Apple retail experience, complete with Today at Apple sessions and the Genius Bar. Apple described the new site as a place “where creativity thrives and business takes shape,” underscoring Detroit’s reputation as a city of innovation.
To celebrate the launch, Apple has released a Detroit-themed wallpaper featuring a chrome Apple logo with a “D” inside. In addition, Detroit-inspired music and TV content are now available on Apple Music and Apple TV apps.
A Challenging Opening Day
For new employees, the launch will be a trial by fire. Handling the flood of customers eager for both the store’s debut and new hardware releases will be no small task. Apple’s decision to align the two events highlights the importance of Detroit as a growing hub for the company’s retail expansion.
Preorders Already Live
Apple has already opened preorders for all its September products, ensuring heavy demand when doors open. With the store set to serve as both a retail outlet and a cultural space, the grand opening marks a significant milestone for Apple and for downtown Detroit.
