Apple has released a major update to its Invites app, introducing both a new design and practical tools for event planning. The update, rolled out this week, makes the app compliant with Apple’s Liquid Glass interface, which brings a layered, more expressive visual style.

Smarter Event Management

The highlight of the update is calendar syncing, which automatically links invitations to the Calendar app once the feature is enabled. This integration helps users keep track of events without switching between apps. Another new feature is video playback, available directly within Invites through a Shared Albums tile. This addition allows organizers to share clips or promotional videos alongside their event details.

Continued Feature Growth

Apple has been steadily enhancing Invites since its debut in early 2025. In August, the app added a countdown widget, and earlier updates introduced a link sharing tile for easier collaboration. The new improvements continue Apple’s push to make Invites a central hub for planning and managing events.

Access and Availability

Apple Invites is free to download, but event organizers must have an iCloud+ subscription, which starts at $0.99 per month and is included with all tiers of Apple One. While free users can still receive invites, only paid subscribers can create and manage events.

Aiming for Convenience

By combining design polish with practical tools, Apple is positioning Invites as a streamlined solution for digital event management. The new features not only simplify organization but also bring more creativity to event planning.
