Apple Vision Pro is making a deeper push into enterprise design through Cisco’s Webex platform. At its WebexOne 2025 event, Cisco unveiled “3D Model Collaboration,” a new feature that lets teams upload, manipulate, and review 3D models together in real time .

Using Apple’s spatial computing, teams can rotate, resize, and analyze designs as if they were physical objects. Meeting hosts can assign permissions, and multiple models can be displayed side by side for comparison. Cisco says this feature helps remote work feel more immersive, narrowing the gap between digital meetings and in-person collaboration.

A Critical Step for Apple Vision Pro

Since its February 2024 launch, Apple Vision Pro has struggled to reach mass-market appeal due to its $3,499 price tag, weight, and short battery life . While consumers have used it for entertainment and browsing, businesses may now see a clearer value. Cisco’s enterprise-focused tools could help Apple reposition the headset as an essential workplace device rather than a luxury gadget.

Industries like automotive, architecture, and healthcare could benefit the most. Automakers may review prototypes without expensive travel, architects can guide clients through projects before construction, and medical schools can simulate anatomy lessons without physical models.

Challenges Ahead

Despite the promise, Vision Pro remains costly for large-scale adoption. Fewer than one million units have sold globally, and outfitting a single team can run into six figures . Still, if businesses save on travel and speed up production cycles, the investment may prove worthwhile.

Available Now

The 3D Model Collaboration feature is now live for Apple Vision Pro users with Webex accounts. Cisco offers it even to free account holders, though the main push is toward enterprises already using its services .

With this update, Apple takes another step toward proving Vision Pro’s value in professional settings, signaling that its future may lie more in the boardroom than the living room.
