Apple has unveiled a black version of its Magic Keyboard for the iPad Air. The release came alongside the launch of the M5 iPad Pro, which features Wi-Fi 7 and Apple’s advanced C1X modem for cellular models.
This isn’t a new model, but rather a color addition. The Magic Keyboard for the 13-inch iPad Air was previously available only in white. The new black finish gives users a more professional and versatile look that matches Apple’s premium devices.

Pricing and Payment Options
The Magic Keyboard for the 13-inch iPad Air costs $319. Customers can also finance it for $26.58 per month for twelve months. Apple Card users receive 3% Daily Cash back when purchasing directly from Apple.
This update shows Apple’s effort to give users more choice without changing the keyboard’s hardware. The black option mirrors Apple’s broader strategy—offering subtle design upgrades to keep its products visually appealing.
iPad Pro Compatibility Update
Apple also updated the product listings for the iPad Pro Magic Keyboards. Both the 11-inch and 13-inch models now appear under the M5 iPad Pro section on Apple’s online store. However, they remain compatible with the M4 iPad Pro, showing that the listing was mainly a rebrand rather than a redesign.
Archived versions of Apple’s website confirm that the descriptions are almost identical to last year’s listings. The only noticeable change is the removal of the “new” label.
Availability
The black Magic Keyboard for iPad Air is now available through Apple’s online store and retail locations. While the update doesn’t bring new features, the refined look and flexibility make it a welcome addition for iPad Air owners.
