Apple is ramping up its artificial intelligence efforts with several new partnerships on the horizon. CEO Tim Cook confirmed during the company’s Q4 earnings call that Apple is in talks with multiple AI leaders to enhance Apple Intelligence.
While Apple’s collaboration with OpenAI continues, Cook revealed that the company is also exploring partnerships with Anthropic and others. These deals aim to bring more powerful large language models (LLMs) into Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, which processes complex AI tasks while keeping user data secure.

Siri Set for a Smarter Upgrade in 2026
Cook said Apple plans to release an LLM-powered Siri in early 2026. The update will make Siri more intuitive, allowing it to understand context better and perform advanced tasks using App Intents.
Apple delayed some Apple Intelligence features earlier this year after internal testing found integration issues between its AI frameworks. The company has since refined these systems to ensure smoother performance when the update launches.
Building a More Connected AI Ecosystem
New clues about Apple’s AI direction appear in iOS 26.1, which introduces the Model Context Protocol. This feature lets third-party AI systems work more effectively with iPhone tools without compromising privacy.
Cook emphasized that Apple’s upcoming AI initiatives will continue blending hardware, software, and services into one seamless ecosystem. The strategy highlights Apple’s focus on privacy and reliability while expanding its AI capabilities.
Growing Investor Optimism
Investors see Apple’s AI plans as a potential growth driver. The iPhone 16, iPhone 17, and upcoming iPhone 17e all support Apple Intelligence, setting the stage for broader adoption.
Although the initial Apple Intelligence launch didn’t create a major iPhone upgrade wave, analysts expect renewed interest once new AI features arrive. Apple’s push toward smarter, more personal technology could mark a defining moment in its AI journey.
