Apple Invites Update Lets Guests Specify Adults and Kids Attending

Apple has rolled out a practical update for its Invites app, allowing users to specify the number of adults and children attending an event. The new feature, part of version 1.6, aims to make event planning easier as families prepare for the festive season.

Until now, guests could only confirm whether they planned to attend an event. The update introduces a more detailed response option, helping hosts better prepare for gatherings. With this new functionality, event organizers can now tailor arrangements based on age groups—such as food portions, seating, and activities.

Holiday Timing and Key Improvements

The update arrives just as the year-end party season begins, making it especially useful for large family events and community gatherings. Apple’s update notes also include the usual bug fixes and performance improvements, ensuring smoother operation for users.

The feature is available for iPhone users running iOS 18 or later and requires the organizer to have an iCloud+ subscription. The app remains free to download on the App Store and takes up around 83.3 MB of storage.

Expanding Apple’s Event Ecosystem

Apple Invites continues to grow steadily since its debut earlier this year. Recent updates have added Calendar syncing, video playback, and a countdown widget, while October’s release introduced festive event backgrounds.

These improvements suggest Apple is positioning the app as a central hub for personal and professional event management. While it’s not yet a direct competitor to dedicated platforms like Eventbrite, its deep integration with Apple’s ecosystem gives it a strong advantage for users who rely on iCloud and iOS for daily planning.
