New reports suggest Apple is weighing a major change to how viewers watch Major League Soccer. The company may drop the standalone MLS Season Pass in 2026 and fold the full package into the regular Apple TV subscription.

The shift would give Apple TV members access to regular-season matches, the Leagues Cup, the All-Star Game, the Campeones Cup, and the entire MLS Cup Playoffs. All of this would come without an additional fee. If adopted, the move would simplify soccer streaming for millions of subscribers.

Why Apple Might Rethink Its MLS Strategy

Currently, the MLS Season Pass costs $14.99 per month on top of the standard Apple TV subscription. This makes MLS the only major Apple sports product that isn’t bundled with the base service.

Apple treats other sports differently. Friday Night Baseball comes included for no extra charge, and the company recently secured rights to stream Formula 1 race weekends for U.S. viewers beginning in 2026. With that shift, Apple appears to be building a broader sports ecosystem.

The company has also been experimenting. In recent weeks, Apple TV members were able to watch all MLS Playoff games at no cost. Promotions like this hint at Apple’s interest in increasing viewership before making a long-term change.

What Fans Could Expect Next

Bringing MLS into the core Apple TV subscription would offer a more cohesive streaming experience. It would also remove the need for subscribers to juggle an additional monthly fee. However, the possibility of a future price adjustment still lingers. Apple TV sits at $12.99 per month today, and analysts question whether that rate would hold if MLS becomes a built-in feature.

Apple has not issued any public comments about the report, so final decisions remain unknown. Still, the potential shift signals a growing commitment to sports as Apple prepares for the 2026 season and beyond.
