According to Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital, sources claim Apple will unveil the iPhone Air 2 during its fall 2026 iPhone event. The post offers little supporting evidence, but it directly challenges several reports from late 2024.
Those earlier reports suggested weak sales performance led Apple to remove the iPhone Air successor from its 2026 schedule entirely. At the time, insiders reportedly told engineers that the model was no longer planned, with no revised timeline announced.
Why Some Analysts Expect a Delay
In December, another forecast pushed the iPhone Air 2 to spring 2027, roughly six months later than its original window. That prediction aligned with claims that Apple wanted more time to rethink the product’s positioning.
Despite the uncertainty, previous leaks hinted at modest upgrades rather than a major redesign. One report suggested the iPhone Air 2 would keep its 6.5-inch display while adding a second 48-megapixel rear camera.
