Apple could introduce a deep red option for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, according to a new report. The move would follow the success of the orange iPhone 17 Pro Max, which reportedly gained strong popularity, especially in China.
Traditionally, Apple reserves brighter colors for standard iPhone models. Pro models usually appear in muted tones such as silver, graphite, or blue. However, this time Apple may expand its color strategy for premium devices.

Why Deep Red Now?
The report suggests that Apple is considering deep red because the vibrant orange finish resonated with buyers. As a result, Apple may continue offering Cosmic Orange while adding a richer red variant to the lineup.
There are also rumors of purple or brown shades. However, Bloomberg reportedly believes these are test versions of red rather than separate colors. Therefore, customers should not expect multiple new hues beyond red and possibly orange.
Apple has experimented with red devices before. The company released several (PRODUCT)RED iPhones in the past. Still, not every red rumor becomes reality. For example, a deep red iPhone 15 Pro was predicted in 2023 but never launched.
iPhone Fold to Stay Neutral
While the Pro models may turn bold, the expected iPhone Fold will likely remain conservative. Reports indicate it will launch in black or dark gray, along with white or light silver. Apple appears to prefer classic finishes for its first foldable device.
Design Expected to Stay Familiar
Aside from color, the iPhone 18 Pro models may not look dramatically different from the iPhone 17 Pro series. Analysts suggest Apple commits to design decisions early, often before a current model even ships.
If these reports prove accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro could blend familiar hardware with a striking new finish. As consumer tastes evolve, Apple seems ready to experiment—carefully—within its premium range.
