Ferrari has unveiled one of its most unconventional vehicles yet, and the design is already dividing opinion. The all-electric Ferrari Luce, shaped through a collaboration with former Apple design chief Jony Ive and his creative firm LoveFrom, marks a sharp break from the brand’s traditional styling.
LoveFrom, founded by Ive and designer Marc Newson after Ive left Apple in 2019, reportedly formalised its Ferrari partnership in 2021. Now, five years later, the first major result has emerged.

The Luce is not a subtle evolution. It is a bold redesign that challenges what many enthusiasts expect from Ferrari.
A Ferrari That Does Not Look Like One
Ferrari built its reputation on aggressive performance cars with instantly recognisable shapes. The Luce, however, follows a different path.
The vehicle features a four-door layout, centre-opening doors, futuristic minimalism, and a softer aerodynamic silhouette. While the cabin combines modern OLED displays with physical controls and vintage-inspired gauges, the exterior looks far removed from Ferrari’s familiar visual DNA.
Some observers may see elegance in the simplicity. Others may struggle to connect the design to Ferrari’s heritage.
Its streamlined form prioritises aerodynamics, reportedly delivering a lower drag coefficient than any Ferrari before it. Yet performance engineering alone may not settle the design debate.
Apple Design Influence Is Hard to Miss
Jony Ive’s design fingerprint appears unmistakable. Clean surfaces, minimal detailing, and rounded forms give the Luce a product-design feel rather than a traditional supercar character.
For some, that is exactly what makes the project fascinating. Ferrari gains a fresh identity in an era shifting toward electrification.
However, loyal Ferrari fans often value emotional styling as much as engineering. A radical EV that resembles a technology product more than a classic Italian sports machine could prove controversial.
The Luce also revives speculation about Apple’s abandoned car ambitions. Some may view this as the closest glimpse yet of what an Apple-inspired vehicle might have looked like.
A Luxury Gamble in the EV Era
Ferrari plans to price the Luce at approximately €550,000, or around $640,000, with a European launch expected later in 2026. US buyers may need to wait until 2027.
This is more than a new electric Ferrari. It is a test of whether heritage luxury brands can reinvent themselves without losing their soul.
