Apple has expanded its next-generation Siri AI to the Apple Watch with the release of watchOS 27 beta 3. The update introduces a dedicated Siri app and extends the company’s upgraded virtual assistant to supported wearable devices for the first time.

Apple first unveiled the enhanced Siri at WWDC 2026. The assistant now understands natural language and offers greater contextual awareness. As a result, conversations feel more natural and responsive than before.

Previously, Siri AI was limited to the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. Now, Apple Watch users can also experience the upgraded assistant.

A Dedicated Siri Experience

The new Siri app appears directly in the Dynamic App Grid, which serves as the Apple Watch’s default Home Screen. Apple also places the app at the center of the layout. Five nearby apps adapt to the user’s habits and daily routines.

Another useful feature is conversation continuity. Users can begin a Siri AI conversation on one Apple device and continue it on another. For example, someone can start a request on an iPhone and finish it later on an Apple Watch.

This seamless handoff strengthens Apple’s connected ecosystem and makes Siri more convenient across devices.

Limited to Newer Apple Watch Models

Not every Apple Watch supports the latest software. Apple limits watchOS 27 and Siri AI to newer hardware. Compatible devices include the Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2, Apple Watch SE 3, and newer models.

According to Apple, the newer hardware delivers the performance needed for advanced AI features. Therefore, older Apple Watch models will not receive the update.

The hardware requirement has already sparked discussion among Apple users. Some have questioned why Siri AI works on a watch with limited memory while requiring much more RAM on other Apple devices.

Another Step for Apple’s AI Strategy

Although watchOS 27 beta 3 introduces only a few visible changes, adding Siri AI marks an important milestone. Apple continues to expand its artificial intelligence features across its product lineup while refining the user experience.

More beta updates are expected before the final release later this year. Until then, developers will continue testing Siri AI and helping Apple improve performance before the software reaches the public.
