Apple’s manufacturing partner Foxconn has begun expanding its workforce as production of the iPhone 18 Pro moves into full swing. The hiring campaign follows Apple’s annual production schedule and comes months before the expected fall launch of its next flagship smartphones.

According to reports from China, the iPhone 18 series has entered the mass production phase. Consequently, Foxconn and other suppliers are increasing recruitment to meet Apple’s launch timeline.

Thousands of Workers Needed for Peak Output

Every summer, Foxconn hires large numbers of temporary workers to prepare for Apple’s busiest production season. The company’s massive Zhengzhou manufacturing campus can assemble hundreds of thousands of iPhones each day when operations reach full capacity.

Production must accelerate quickly because new iPhones typically reach stores within two weeks of Apple’s launch event. Therefore, Foxconn aims to reach peak manufacturing levels by late August.

Last year, the company attracted workers by offering bonuses of up to $1,113 for employees who stayed for three months. Although Foxconn has not announced its 2026 incentives, similar recruitment offers are expected as demand for labor increases.

Apple May Change Its Launch Strategy

This year’s production cycle could look different from previous years. Reports suggest Apple plans to split the iPhone 18 lineup into two release windows. Under the rumored strategy, the iPhone 18 Pro models and the iPhone Fold would launch first, while the standard iPhone 18 models would arrive in spring 2027.

Such a strategy would allow Apple’s supply chain to focus on premium devices during the holiday shopping season. At the same time, it could spread manufacturing activity and revenue more evenly throughout the year.

New Timeline Could Improve Production Efficiency

If Apple adopts the reported schedule, Foxconn may maintain steadier production instead of handling a single, intense manufacturing surge. The company could allocate resources more efficiently while reducing pressure on factories during the busiest months.

Although Apple has not confirmed the new launch plan, Foxconn’s hiring campaign signals that preparations for the iPhone 18 Pro are already well underway. As production expands over the coming weeks, the industry will closely watch whether Apple’s new manufacturing strategy delivers a smoother rollout for its next generation of iPhones.
