Apple is preparing to expand its retail presence in Idaho with a new store planned for Meridian, just outside Boise. The location will join the Village at Meridian as the shopping destination adds several new retailers.

The expansion gives customers in the Boise metropolitan area another place to explore Apple products and receive in-person support. However, Apple has not yet confirmed an exact opening date for the store.

Apple Expands Its Idaho Retail Footprint

Apple operates stores around the world but remains selective about where it opens new locations. As a result, a new store can become an important retail addition for its surrounding community.

The Village at Meridian expects some of its new retailers to begin opening in September. That timing could place the expansion near Apple’s traditional fall iPhone season. However, the source does not confirm whether Apple will join the first group of stores opening that month.

Meanwhile, the broader retail rollout will continue beyond September. The shopping center does not expect every incoming location to open until February.

New Store Will Cover 10,000 Square Feet

The planned Apple Store will occupy a 10,000-square-foot storefront next to a similarly sized Pottery Barn. Therefore, shoppers can expect a substantial physical retail presence within the development.

Apple already operates the Boise Towne Square store several miles east of the upcoming Meridian location. Still, the new site could make Apple’s retail services more convenient for customers around Meridian and western parts of the Boise area.

More Access to Apple Products and Support

Apple Stores serve purposes beyond selling iPhones, Macs, iPads, and accessories. Customers can test products before buying them, seek technical assistance, and arrange repairs. In addition, Genius Bar services give users direct access to support for eligible devices.

The Meridian opening also reflects the importance Apple continues to place on physical retail despite the growth of online shopping.

Ultimately, the new location will strengthen Apple’s presence around Boise while giving local shoppers another direct connection to the company. The biggest unanswered question now is when Apple will officially open the doors.
