Apple’s rumored foldable iPhone has appeared in a striking new color leak. However, the images may reveal more about speculation than Apple’s actual plans.
Longtime Apple leaker Evan Blass shared renders that appear to show the unannounced iPhone Ultra in red, black, and white. The red model has attracted particular attention because Apple has not released a red iPhone since 2022.
That year, Apple offered red versions of the iPhone 14 and third-generation iPhone SE through its (PRODUCT)RED partnership. Therefore, a red iPhone Ultra would mark the color’s return after several years away.
Red iPhone Ultra Render Raises Questions
The image on the first page shows a book-style foldable phone with a deep red finish. It features two rear cameras and a large internal display. However, the source makes clear that the picture is not an official Apple render.
Several visual details also cast doubt on its accuracy. For example, the battery icon does not match the expected iOS 27 design. It also differs from the battery indicator used in iOS 26.
Consequently, the report suggests the images could be AI-generated. More importantly, no other leaks cited in the document support the claim that Apple plans a red foldable.
Other Rumors Point to a White Model
Instead, previous rumors have suggested Apple could launch its foldable device in just one color: white. That makes the newly pictured red and black versions even more uncertain.
Still, the leak highlights growing interest in Apple’s expected entry into foldable smartphones. If the company adopts the iPhone Ultra name, the device could become a new premium tier within the iPhone family.
According to the attached report, Apple is expected to announce the iPhone Ultra alongside the iPhone 18 Pro on September 9.
Until Apple confirms the product, however, its colors, design, and even the leaked renders should remain firmly in rumor territory. For now, the possibility of a red iPhone Ultra offers an intriguing glimpse at what Apple’s first foldable could look like.
