Apple is bringing its upgraded Siri AI assistant to older Apple TV 4K models, giving existing users access to new features without replacing their devices.
According to a new report, the update will support second-generation Apple TV 4K models from 2021 and newer versions.

Moreover, users will not need to purchase Apple’s latest $299 streaming device to enjoy the improved assistant.
The upgrade will arrive through the upcoming tvOS 27.2 beta, although certain compatibility requirements will apply.
Siri AI Brings Smarter Searches and Recommendations
Apple’s redesigned Siri aims to make television searches more natural and interactive.
Instead of relying on simple commands, users can ask detailed questions and continue conversations with follow-up requests.
For example, viewers can ask which Apple TV shows won Emmy Awards or request recommendations based on their interests.
Additionally, Siri can answer questions about movies and television programs while users watch them.
The assistant displays responses in a compact overlay, allowing playback to continue without major interruptions.
Meanwhile, a new full-screen interface will help users explore movies and television shows more easily.
Older Apple TV 4K Models Need a Compatible Device
Although the update supports older hardware, users must meet several requirements.
The home’s owner needs an Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone or iPad running the latest software.
Furthermore, the connected device must have Siri AI enabled in a supported language.
With a compatible device paired, Siri can access personal context to handle more specific requests.
For instance, users could ask Siri to play a television show that someone recommended through a message.
This feature aims to make entertainment searches more convenient and personalized.
Siri AI Launches in Eight Countries
Apple plans to introduce Siri AI in English across eight countries during its initial rollout.
These include the United States, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K introduces three far-field microphones for hands-free voice commands.
These microphones allow users to control playback and search for content without holding the Siri Remote.
However, the new microphone hardware remains separate from the Siri AI software upgrade.
Ultimately, extending Siri AI to older Apple TV 4K models gives existing customers access to smarter entertainment features without requiring another hardware purchase.
