Apple has revealed the battery capacity of its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, through an official European regulatory filing.
The device features a combined battery capacity of 4,883 mAh, exceeding several recent iPhone models.

According to Apple’s EU Energy Labels filing, the foldable smartphone uses two batteries within its innovative design.
However, its total capacity remains below the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max.
The announcement provides clearer information about Apple’s approach to balancing battery capacity and foldable technology.
iPhone Duo Beats Several Premium Models
The iPhone Duo offers more battery capacity than the iPhone 18 Pro, which features a 4,056 mAh battery.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 18 Pro Max leads Apple’s current lineup with a 5,391 mAh battery.
The previous-generation iPhone 17 Pro Max includes a 4,823 mAh battery, slightly below the new foldable device.
Additionally, the iPhone 17 Pro provides 3,988 mAh, while the standard iPhone 17 offers 3,692 mAh.
The iPhone Air has a smaller 3,149 mAh battery.
Consequently, the iPhone Duo ranks among Apple’s highest-capacity smartphones despite its folding design.
Dual-Battery Design Supports Foldable Technology
Unlike traditional iPhones, the iPhone Duo uses two separate batteries to accommodate its folding structure.
Apple has not officially disclosed the individual capacity of each battery.
However, earlier reports suggested the device would combine 1,921 mAh and 2,962 mAh batteries.
Interestingly, these figures total exactly 4,883 mAh, matching Apple’s newly published capacity.
Nevertheless, the company has not confirmed whether this rumored battery arrangement reflects the final hardware.
The design highlights the engineering challenges involved in fitting powerful components into a foldable smartphone.
Early Performance Tests Show Promising Results
Beyond battery capacity, early benchmark results suggest the iPhone Duo delivers performance comparable to the iPhone 18 Pro.
The foldable device reportedly achieved 3,986 points in Geekbench 7 single-core testing.
Meanwhile, its multi-core score reached 11,067 points, compared with 11,540 points for the iPhone 18 Pro.
Both smartphones use the same processor, helping explain their similar performance.
However, battery capacity alone does not determine how long a smartphone operates between charges.
Screen size, software optimization, and usage patterns also influence battery life.
Ultimately, the iPhone Duo combines substantial battery capacity with flagship-level processing power, strengthening Apple’s entry into the foldable smartphone market.
