Apple Special Event Feb. 28th, this time for real
It looks
like all the fake invites were off by 6
days. iLounge and
Thinksecret are both reporting that Apple has sent out
invites to certain members of the media (Hey, Steve, no invite for your favorite bloggers?) to a special event on
February 28th to be held on Apple's campus in Cupertino. The invite reads 'Come see some fun new products from Apple,'
while featuring the iCal icon to the right. So, what do you think Apple will be announcing? Perhaps a new iPod? Intel Mac minis? Let the speculation commence!
Thanks to everyone who sent this one in.

Maybe it'll be an iCall app that actually shows the correct date in the dock! :)

Expect no big thing. probably will be some minor "fun" releases like an ipod Boombox and an iBook announcement (probably not a release) since the education market buying season is coming and they need to give information of what's is coming.
IT WON'T BE the TABLET nor the VIDEO IPOD those will come later, the tablet.. who knows. The Video iPod will come when the new home entrainment platform is released. Maybe April 1.

I think it will be 2 iPod products (like the boombox thing) and a new piece of software for ripping DVDs into iPod format. Nothing huge just neat little gizmos. Im guessing no computer announcements.

I'm betting they're announcing a joint effort with another recently-patented technology and releasing a new enterprise solution, the iWarpDrive.

What with all the integration of iPods and mac minis into cars, I think Apple is entering the auto business.
Apple TX
Apple RS
Apple XUV

I know this seems unlikely given that the Intel iMac is so new, but why has nobody proposed the idea of a touchscreen iMac?

I'm with aazp.
The BIG announcements will be saved for the 30th anniversary.
I mean, if you had some reaaly cool things to introduce, wouldn't YOU hold off for a really important day? We're only talking a month here.
I know April 1st falls on a Saturday, but if it were my birthday, I'd start the party late Friday night then really kick things into gear after midnight.
Wait a minute, I did do that on my birthday! All I remember was all kinds of alcohol and strippers.... but that's a whole other story ;-)

I bet you there will be:
New iSight - Thinner, more compact
New iBook (Macbook?) - Thinner, running on flash, all the built ins of the Macbook Pro
Something We totally Do not Expect - Apple Tablet?
New iPod shuffle or video - Touch screen!
