Mangled Powerbook still works

Scott Stevenson, of Theocacao, shares this picture of Matt Johnston's Powerbook. It has obviously been through a lot, but it still boots and Airport works as well.
TUAW does not recommend you do this to your own Powerbook.

I'm guessing the CD/DVD drive does *not* still work...

Lucky him, I knocked my 12" iBook off the desk. The screen, HD (so much for the motion sudden sensor) and video card all died.
Combo drive still worked though so I guess I score 1 point

Wow! did not see this warning before loading boot camp and Win XP on this machine. Should have read the fine print.

What the hell did he do.... lend his Mac to Bobby Knight?!
Ah well, still works better than most Dells do out of the box.

I know how this guy feels. I just spilled a Starbucks coffee into my Macbook Pro. The repair costs $1297, if anyone is interested, and is considered a Tier 4 repair. It arrived yesterday in Houston, TX and is currently "being worked on."

I doused my 12" PowerBook with a tall cup of tea and it works fine over a year later, I just let it dry out for a day.

the night i got together with my girlfriend, i spilt an entire bottle of red wine on my powerbook (while trying to play a more romantic song)
i then tried to blow dry it (half drunk) and melted all the keys
i then prayed for a week really hard
and then miraculously it decided to turn on after a week

I wanna know the whole story too. I recently soaked a Powerbook with a tall glass of water. It freaked and quit. I let it dry completely and then it started right up. Some Mac products can take a likin and keep on tickin.

BTW, most electronics will take almost any spill, except cola's, if you kill them right away. A roadie once told me I could drink anything but jack and coke over his mixing console, so he handed me a beer. Something about the sugar and it's recrystallization on the electronic parts, either that or he was coked up.
But as said, most electronics can take spills, but as the picture indicates, only the best can take the crap being beaten out of them.
