Flickr Find: Old Apple wrench
How's
this for vintage Apple hardware? While looking through the Macintosh Flickr group, I came across this gem that fits in perfectly
with our vintage Mac theme. The photographer, jotefa, writes that it's a 5mm wrench that came with the serial interface
card for his Apple ][. Hold on to that, jotefa. It's pretty cool.Share

I've still got one of these on my keychain. It was used to tighten the screws on the back of the ports on the II series Macs (and works on PC's as well). However I've found that it's a great divot fixer on the greens.

Easy, it's the lens cover thingy off a quicktake camera (don't remember what it did anymore). I remember when my graphic arts teacher in high school brought one in. It was the first digital camera I ever saw/used. I'm sure it was the first for just about everyone in my class.
@Dave: It was in the tuaw pool even earlier than in the Macintosh pool, of course.
@Joe: Do I need extra insurance? ;-)
@Dan: Looks like a tele or wide angle thing for a QuickTake to me. Cool.
Sorry, link in above post didn't work - here's the widget I found:

Found one of these at a school where I was working - nobody knew what it was, and the school had never owned any Apple kit. Took me ages to figure it out...

April 12 2006 at 3:51 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyit is a wrench perfectly size for loosening the nuts fount on either side of an old parallel port. I think one came with a repair kit of some kind or peripherals that required one for installation. I have one laying around too.
