We've been blogging about Steve Job's appearance at All Things Digital a lot today, and now you can watch it for yourself. A ten minute highlight reel has been posted on the All Things Digital website. I recommend you watch the whole video for a classic Jobs quote.

Thats the greatest quote ever..."It's like giving a glass of ice water to somebody in hell." Wow, I love Steve.

Steve Jobs is such a jerk. Most CEOs are able to sit down and be "real" in such an interview. But Jobs just gives the same answers written by the PR-department, turning the interview into another "Apple-event."
Apple makes great software and hardware, but Jobs is not God.

I don't think it makes Steve Jobs a jerk by not giving specific answers on internal numbers regarding iTunes usage/downloads. Apple never gives specific numbers. Steve is just being Steve. That's how he usually answers questions dealing with this sort of thing.
But you are right: Steve is not God. If he were God, Microsoft and Apple wouldn't have the history they do. He's just a guy who happens to be the fearless leader of a company a lot of people love and trust. That's all.

I am a fan of Steve Jobs, but it is true..his answers were all prewritten by PR team.. he answers the questions the way he made a presentation of iPhone back at Macworld... there it seemed like a nice presentation.. but now it looks like he does not know what else to say... I was expecting better, more creative answers

@Christian Knappskog - By your logic, the head of every company and country on Earth is also a "jerk." These people have learned that the public will dissect every single word or implication which is not carefully planned. Look at what we're doing right now.

The PR department doesn't tell Steve Jobs what to say, Steve Jobs tells the PR department what to say. He's not a jerk, he's cagey. If he lays his cards all out on the table, no one could wonder and speculate and rumor monger. And all the hype and momentum that Apple has built over the past years would all be deflated.
Plus I think he was hinting at something. I figured that the stand alone iPod wouldn't get the touch screen love for some time, but now I'm not so sure.

I think Jobs is deeply suspicious of journalists and the media in general, and sometimes has to resort to PR talk in order to avoid looking arrogant or uncooperative.

Man, Jobs is so evil (in a good way). Jobs won't let anything slip about the iPhone. It is irritating how he avoids/dodges some questions but it is all okay. Apple has got the ball rolling and nobody, not even Jobs will say/do anything to stop that ball, or slow it down. I love his quote :)
