Date set for Kentucky Apple Store
A couple of months ago, TUAW operative Kelly noticed listings for Apple retail positions in her home state of Kentucky. Then, reader Chris sent in this spyshot of the barricade in front of the future store.Today, the Courier-Journal.com has announced an opening date for this store: September 8th. This will be Kentucky's very first Apple Store, so expect long lines and excited shoppers. You'll find it on Shelbyville Road near Mall St. Matthews and Oxmoor Center.
If you attend this opening, let us know! It should be fun.

Really low. There isn't anything there! No way that is the capital. And they definitely are not getting an Apple store in Frankfort
Must be Louisville.
Well, emoose, apparently YOU don't know that Frankfort is the state capital of KY, NOT Louisville!

August 25 2007 at 2:10 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIts ok that Louisville wasn't mentioned in the text. Everybody knows Louisville is the capital of Kentucky and will just assume that the Apple store will be located in the capital city.
I will definitely be there the morning the store opens! What time is everyone else getting there? Also, what should I buy? I don't have a lot of $$$ so I'm thinking a Shuffle.

See ya'll at the opening, ye'hear!?
The 45 minutes to the Louisville store from Lexington is better than the hour-and-a-half to the Cincinnati store, but it would be nice to get some Apple Store lovin' over here as well. Not much chance of that happening soon, though, so I guess I'll just suck it up.

It's in Oxmoor Center, actually. Rather than near it.
I've peaked inside. There's enough space between the door on that barricade, and its frame, that you can.
Looks like every other Apple store, of course.
The best news about this is that it'll put the assholes at Mac Authority, AKA MacTown AKA some other name they had at one point, out of business. Shadiest jerks in Louisville retail.
Once Louisville Mac users can finally get decent service on their machines, ownership should skyrocket.
