Steve Jobs shows up at a Yahoo! meeting

Yahoo! CEO Jerry Yang invited Steve Jobs (whom Kara Swisher calls "...Silicon Valley's equivalent of Oprah") to make a surprise appearance at a meeting of top executives last week. Yang called Jobs "...one of his heroes," and Steve told the group that Yahoo! has the assets, they just need to focus on execution.

Steve as motivational speaker? We hadn't considered that before. Let's hope he warned them about living in a van down by the river.

There's somethign more going on with Jobs and Yahoo... I can't figure out how Yahoo would get the exclusive first-view of the WALL-E trailer from Pixar, and not Apple's Quicktime Trailers page??

Jobs does this often at investor meetings - he did this very early on with the Segway, and mentored Dean Kamen on the product and his business practices for a short time.

Ps, How do you (DrunkDwarf) get off calling Erica Sadun an "iPhone Terrorist" when you yourself have admitted to using iBlackJack? How can you muster one iota of confidence to call her (or anyone on the Dev team) a terrorist when you yourself have partaken of the fruits (see what I did there?) of their labor?

Please go find an island - TUAW and the internet would be much better off without you!

DrunkDwarf - You seem to know EXACTLY how to run a blog and exactly what should and should not be posted. Perhaps you should consider starting your own blog rather than trolling TUAW?

Starbucks goes live this morning with the iTunes integration and the lead store on TUAW is about Steve Jobs as a motivational speaker for Yahoo last week?

I got my paper Song of the Day card this morning. Got my credit card plastic Eddie Vedder download card ($12). Also loaded up a re-loaded value card and got my two free downloads. Alas the iTunes integration, and free WiFi access, were not working. I'll have to try back over Lunch.
