Leopard-ready iMac icons
I'm not sure exactly what you could use these for, but the better question might be what can't you use them for? Easily identify iMacs on your network, or use an app like Candybar to put these wherever you want. Want an iMac full of iMacs? You got it.

Those are great, but... He should have used the new default Leopard wallpaper! Great work though!

Nice thing about leopard, it changes your 'My Computer' icon to the type of machine you have. Install it on an imac, it shows an imac. Macbook Pro shows a Macbook Pro
These also show up correctly in the browse network view too
pretty nice touch

Great... though would there really be a point for a G3 iMac icon when it can't really run Leopard? I suppose for identifying the machine on a network...

For those that don't know... Leopard can support up to 512x512 icons. I believe Tiger currently tops out at 128x128.
I hope apps like pixadex are ready to support the larger icons when the launches next week. :)

Is it just me or why are the icons on the edges of the pic blurry as hell.

I want you to read this article and then think about the question you just asked again.

Candybar is great, but sadly it doesn't work in leopard [yet].

Nice icons but he could have used the Leopard desktop background.
Oh, and holo, Leopard does not set the default icon depending on what machine you have.

I feel sorry for whoever took the time to make these. Apple includes 512x512 icons of every Mac in Leopard. I should know, I'm posting this on Leopard build 9A559 (Post WWDC Preview).
The icons are located in
/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
They're professionally designed, and not to be insulting, but they are well... better.

#11 and #14: #12 is right. As I said earlier, I have been using leopard for long enough t know that is true. I can email you proof if you like. I can even send the actual icon set. You can see a preview here: hazkid.com/home

I never stated that the icons weren't included, I simply stated that they weren't set by default.
Can someone find me proof otherwise?

Man this is a preview for icons, not real life or video games, its dumb to blur your icons in your preview to indicate depth, why don't you email Apple and tell them to add depth to all their images and blur them so you can't make them out clearly, cuz you know, thats a good idea...

Okay I changed icons in tiger before with few hassles, doing the usual get-info, copy icon you want, select little icon in info page of the icon you want to change and then paste. With these leopard icons kindly pointed out to me by HazKid when I get info on the icons there is just a generic ICNS icon that is available to copy, not the lovely shiny mac mini icon I actually want. Can someone post instructions on how to change these icons please. Preferably without a 3rd party app like web-searches suggest! Cheers

Leopard only includes icons back to the desklamp imac... I can see how you could add additional icons into the resources, but how do you know what machines are called on the network to invoke additional icons?
I ask because I have a hacked AppleTV that has AFP enabled and I'd like to add an AppleTV icon so it shows up in my network browser. (I know, I have OCD).
