Rumor: Apple event the last week of February
TUAW has received a tip that the company that does television for Apple's live events and Macworld is apparently hiring for an unannounced Apple event at the end of February. Keep in mind that this is an unconfirmed rumor -- while TUAW trusts our source, job listings are not available on the video company's website, and Apple has not yet announced any events happening this month. But Apple did promise us a year flush with announcements, and starting with the new Mac Pros all the way up to the bigger iPhones and iPod touches last week, they haven't disappointed yet.And what would the event be about? Considering that we've got our ultraportable already, and our HD Apple TV, what big news are we possibly hoping to hear in "the end of February"?
This is just a rumor, so don't get too excited yet. But if it is true, and if Apple is holding an event before the end of the month, get ready, baby. We just might be about to see the iPhone SDK.

Phenomenon?
"...Apple also announced that they would end support for Shake, as they begin work on the next-generation software, codenamed Phenomenon to be released in 2008.[5] Existing maintenance program subscribers had the option to license the Shake source code for $50,000 USD."

Thanks for all the comedy guys, it lights up my morning!
I'm hoping for Java/Flash on the iPhone/Touch. And, if they can't jailbreak the hand-held OS, at least parole some of it's file access features.

Plus I'd say that it is unlikely Apple would announce a new iPhone (3G iPhone ?) if it is not able to ship it yesterday (!), because it could expect the selling figures of the other iPhones to drop with the announcement of the new one.
Sounds to me like this will be a catch-up launch event for the projects delayed when engineers were reportedly pulled-in to work on the Macbook Air.
- iPhone SDK launched
- AppleTV take 2 software goes live
- Time Capsule ships
- One More Thing: updated MacBook Pros
Outside bet that they'll update the design of the Macbook itself, but they'll have to differentiate it clearly from the Pro.
Apple said the were going to release the iphone sdk in February, so this is not new. Probably some xcode release with cross platform integration: iphone/ipod/mac/appletv.
My prediction:
- more iphone countries: canada, japan, spain and south america (telefonica), italy and more european countries.
- the end of white apples: new aluminium mini and macbook.
- new mac book pro.
- macbook series renamed macbook becomes macbook water and macbookpro becomes macbook fire. This way we have water, air and fire. Just kidding.
The big announcement is that Apple is finally incorporating Blu-Ray into its ecosystem!
