I don't know how comfy a quilt made out of t-shirts would be, but maybe the fact that they're all Apple t-shirts will help. That's
exactly what this quilt is made out of -- it's up over on eBay right now, and while the price is only around $36 at the time of this writing, it's probably gone up since then. There are about 20 t-shirts in the quilt total, and they look like they range from the late '90s (there's
a bondi blue iMac on there, I believe) up to
the Tiger release (at least those are all the ones I recognize). And they do seem like official store t-shirts, which means whoever made the quilt probably is or knows an Apple employee.
If you can get over the fact that someone probably once wore your quilt, it might be a nice Apple-themed bedspread to grab. I've been looking for a good quilt lately, and while this is a little too patched together for my interests, maybe Apple is missing something here. What would an
Ive-designed quilt end up looking like?

OK, that was geeky enough for me to bid, but I know I will be outbid soon.

an Ive quilt probably wouldn't be that comfortable--aluminum and glass bedspread just doesn't shout welcoming and comfortable to me. I'm glad Ive stick to his medium

There would be no seams. It would be one solid piece of fabric that somehow wrapped around itself. Because of this, there wouldn't be any stuffing, but that'd be okay, since the idea is to be thin.

iClarified had an article about a week ago about Microsoft T-shirts with MS DOS written on them..... And now its Apple's turn.... Maybe, we will soon see Google and Yahoo! T-shirts....
Its getting a good way of advertising where technically, the publisher pays for the advertisement.....

I've got some sheets that are made of the same kind of material as t-shirts, and they're actually pretty cozy.

That's kinda cool, but I wouldn't get it.

looks like it is over $200 now, with 4 days left. Apparently, Apple employees could make good money selling their old shirts in quilt form.

these are all shirts handed to apple costumers in special occasions. as far as i know, apple never sold shirts. only handed them out.

this is crap... when i worked for apple i donated shirts to this quilt. i could have put my shirts on ebay... i still have about 100 of them. i fully expect THIS PERSON (i know who they are) to distribute the proceeds...bah!

I can tell you that tshirt quilts are most definitely comfortable. In this case, the 60/40 backing fabric probably isn't all that great and it also looks like the t-shirts aren't properly fused which means the whole thing would be quite saggy but the concept is great. My wife makes them for a living and has made quilts out of race shirts, concert shirts, harley shirts, etc. but never Apple shirts. If you have shirts you want made properly into a quilt, head over to http://www.patchworkmemories.com and she'll set you up right.

i'm having a friend make a quilt for me right now out of some of my old t-shirts, and there's quite a lot of apple shirts in there. i had to double-check this auction to make sure this wasn't my friend selling my quilt! (ha!)

Ahhh that would be awesome if Apple began their own clothing line like Microsoft has. Imagine wearing a shirt with all six Apple computers on back and all five Apple MP3 players on the front - AWESOME!!!

OVER $1,200 NOW... Buy someone an iMac instead, or give them $1,200... they'll love it more than 20 T-shirts. Geez, I thought our economy was down?!?

well first of all the $1200 bid was obviously a mistake because it has been administratively removed and its back to
$429...oh my god...this person has hit the lottery...now there will be a mad dash for people to collect all their t-shirts and making their old mommies make them the quilt to sell...
if i knew how to do it i would be on it already
lmfao
look with the economy where it is...you got to make the money any way you can
